MicrostatMO system for high resolution magneto-optical measurements

The MicrostatMO is a compact cryostat which provides a cryogenic environment ideal for sensitive optical and electrical measurements in magnetic field. This cryostat provides good spatial stability, easy integration with optical components and is also ideal for quick electrical sample characterisation.

 

  • Wide temperature range from 6 K to 300 K
  • Magnetic field up to 5 T provides sufficient field to resolve level splitting, satisfying the majority of spectroscopy applications
  • Low vibration and drift (typically 4 nm/min) design enabling high resolution measurements
    • Ideal for quantum dot experiments
  • Convenient continuous flow operation - no need for bulk liquid helium transfers
  • Can be orientated horizontally or vertically to suit your optical configuration
  • Quick sample change using a demountable sample holder
  • Can be used for both reflection and transmission measurements
  • The magnet is held at low temperature during the sample change process - no need to re-cool
  • Mounting bracket supplied to clamp the cryostat to the optical bench, for fast set-up

Options

  • Window options: as standard the MicrostatMO is supplied with a 0.5 mm thick Spectrosil WF top window assembly with 15 mm aperture. Other window materials are available on request
  • Sample holder options: two versions are available providing a copper sample platform for lowest base temperature or a sapphire sample platform for optical transmission measurements
  • Gas flow pump and controller: the MicrostatMO can be most conveniently cooled using a pressurised liquid helium dewar.  However, the lowest base temperature can be achieved using an optional pump
  • Optical bench mounting:  the MicrostatMO is equipped as standard with a mounting bracket to attach it to an optical bench.  It can be attached directly to a non-magnetic optical bench.  Optional stand-off pillars are available for mounting the MicrostatMO above a standard (magnetic) optical bench, to ensure safe and reliable operation with magnetic field on
