Optical Emission Spectroscopy
In the Optical Emission Spectroscopy technique, atoms in a sample are excited by energy that comes from a spark formed between sample and electrode. The energy of the spark causes the electrons in the sample to emit light which is converted into aspectral pattern. By measuring the intensity of the peaks in this spectrum, Oxford Instruments’ OES analyzers can produce qualitative and quantitative analysis of the material composition with uncompromising accuracy.
Mobile, battery operated ARC-MET8000, PMI-MASTER PRO, TEST-MASTER PRO and PMI-MASTER SORT enable accurate, stable and fast analysis results for different alloy applications.
The FOUNDRY-MASTER and FOUNDRY-MASTER COMPACT are bench-top optical emission spectrometers for process-control and the chemical analysis of metals capable of delivering high analytical flexibility. These compact bench-top instruments can distinguish nearly all elements in all metals. Steel and cast iron can be as precisely and quickly analysed as Al, Cu, Ni, Ti, Co, Pb, Sn, Zn or Mg. The compact design does not require laboratory type conditions, allowing analysis close to the production line
